House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) took aim at Joe Biden and the House of Representatives during his weekly press briefing. While addressing reporters Thursday, he came down on Biden for the skyrocketing inflation rates and the Democrat Party’s reckless spending.

“As I watched a clip from the Presidents town hall last night, I couldn’t see a person more out of touch,” McCarthy explained. “A small business owner struggled to survive though the pandemic. He has a government now competing with him, paying higher unemployment and an extra $15 an hour where he can’t bring people back to work. And what’s the presidents answer? Just pay more. I wish the President understood what it’s like to own a small business.”

Just last week, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen warned Americans to brace for several more months of rapid inflation. Yet, Democrats plan on increasing government spending even more while putting further pressure on American families who are already struggling to pay rising gas and food prices.

“And what has he proposed?” McCarthy asked. “More spending. Not working together. Not finding that you can put an infrastructure bill together that can build more roads for less, but has to have Bernie Sander’s approach of three trillion and a half dollars.”

The House Minority Leader went on to say Republicans will continue their work to lower inflation, secure the border and fight the rise in violent crime.

McCarthy attributed these hardships facing Americans to the left while stating once they took the majority, Democrats defunded the police and opened the border to immigrants. He also criticized Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) for rejecting two Republicans he appointed to her January 6 commission.

“From what the Speaker has done, that puts a great deal of doubt in it,” he stated. “I mean at no time in the history of a select committee in American, and I checked with a historian, has what Speaker Pelosi has done ever happened before. The idea that she’s going to pick and choose, you’re not going to get an outcome.”

McCarthy asserted it no longer matters what Pelosi does from here as it appears her commission’s report on January 6 is already predetermined.
