Another violent crime captured on video has New York City residents on edge.

The New York Police Department released a video on Wednesday, showing a 62-year-old man being knocked to the ground and then brutally attacked by seven men. Police said the victim was hit from behind with what appears to be a metal object then stabbed and slashed by the group after they swarmed him.

The attack occurred early in the morning in Midtown Manhattan. The suspects involved fled on foot following the attack.

The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but is now listed as stable. Police are still searching for suspects in connection with the attack and have urged anyone with information to call the police.

This comes as violent crime in New York City has skyrocketed in the wake of last year’s BLM riots and calls to defund the police.
