Pennsylvania Rep. Dan Meuser (R) visited the Rio Grande River border. Reports said Meuser took a trip to the Texas border last week, stating he saw firsthand how serious this humanitarian crisis has become.

This came as Border Patrol agents reported gun smuggling was up 131 percent.

Meuser called the visit a “tragic turn of events,” as children were being kept in pods of 50, where the capacity limit was normally just 15.

“As well, we have a huge number of unaccompanied minors that you may have heard about,” Meuser stated. “That’s due to a change that took place in something called Title 42, where the Biden administration did an executive order stating that unaccompanied minors would no longer be sent back as they were in the Trump administration. They are now being released”

Border officials estimated more than 1 million unaccompanied minors will enter the U.S. illegally this year alone.
