One person was killed and three other people, including an infant, were critically injured after a car drove off a cliff in Southern California. On Friday, police said the crash happened in Big Tujunga Canyon, which is north of Los Angeles. According to reports, the vehicle tumbled off the side of the cliff.

However, officials said they’re unsure what led up to the accident. Emergency crews responded to the scene and airlifted two women and an infant to a nearby hospital.

“We did in fact find a vehicle about 200 feet down the hillside,” Bat. Chief Jim Ruiz of the Los Angeles City Fire Department stated. “Four patients, three of whom were transported by LA County Sheriff’s Air 5 to a local area trauma center.”

The condition of the injured passengers was unknown and the crash remains under investigation.
