Washington, D.C. public schools will require students to have negative COVID tests before returning to in-person learning following the holidays. On Wednesday, Mayor Muriel Browser announced D.C. public school students can not return to class after winter break unless they show proof of a negative test.
Bowser went as far as to say she is prepared to turn students away if they are unable to comply. The tests are required to be done the day before students are scheduled to be back at school and any test administered before that won’t be accepted.
It appears that not every parent supports the decision to test their kids before sending them back to school with some saying it will be difficult to find the time.
“The logistics are hard, I’m certain it will be burdensome for a lot of parents,” explained the mother of a D.C. pre-K student.

Students and teachers are also expected to wear face masks during the day even with the negative tests.
