DC Comics is receiving major backlash for releasing this comic strip.

The Joker, also known as The Clown Prince of Crime, is best known as the arch nemesis of Batman in Gotham City, occasionally making a cross over to other heroes and cities. He has been one of DC’s most iconic and popular villains, with multiple iterations of the character making it into big budget movies.
The biggest and most influential depiction of the character was the late Heath Ledger’s portrayal of the DC villain in 2008’s The Dark Knight. The movie earned the actor an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.
This new comic is a drastically different direction from previous Joker stories such as “The Killing Joke” released in 1988, and is receiving mixed reactions from audiences.
Considered one of the best comic book stories of all time, “The Killing Joke” has been adapted into an animated movie which was released in 2016.
