The White House has offered rapper Nicki Minaj a phone call with one of their doctors. On Thursday, the White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said the offer was made regarding any questions she may have over the safety and effectiveness of the coronavirus vaccine.

Taking to Twitter the rapper said she had been invited to the White House, saying it was a step in the right direction. However, Psaki emphasized it was simply an offer to have a conversation.

“Well, our hope is anyone who has a big platform is going to project accurate information about the effectiveness of the vaccine, the safety of the vaccine and the availability of the vaccine,” said Psaki. “At the same time, it both can be true, we also recognize that people have questions out there.”

This comes after the rapper said she would not be able to attend the Met Gala because she was unvaccinated and wanted to do more of her own research on the vaccine before committing. Minaj revealed she had contracted COVID-19 and that her friend had experienced side effects after receiving the vaccine. She cited these as reasons why she has yet to receive her first dose.
