A violent rampage has left a Louisiana community on edge. Sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic incident at a home in Baton Rouge on Sunday, where they found a 78-year-old woman dead and another woman wounded.

“The suspect stabbed his grandmother, she was deceased on the scene,” announced Sheriff Sid Gautreaux. “He then stabbed his mother, she’s in the hospital.”

Authorities said the suspect, identified as 28-year-old Aaron Morgan, then stole his grandmother’s car and fled to an area shopping center. He reportedly ditched the car in the shopping center’s parking lot before shooting three people in two separate cars and stealing another vehicle.

A short pursuit ensued before Morgan allegedly got out of the vehicle and pointed a gun at deputies who then shot him. He remains hospitalized and will face multiple charges, including murder.

All the injured victims are in stable condition as investigators are trying to determine a motive behind the violence.
