Gov. Cuomo on pandemic: It was a ‘tremendous personal benefit’

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) recently called the COVID-19 pandemic a “tremendous personal benefit” after scoring a multi-million dollar book deal. During a virtual address to governors on Thursday, the Democrat said they have a new credibility and advised them to use their newfound power well.

This comes as his $5.1 million memoir, “American Crisis: Leadership Lessons from the COVID-19 Pandemic,” is pending investigation by federal officials. The investigation is focused on the Cuomo administration’s cover-up of the state’s nursing home death toll from COVID-19.

Cuomo went on to claim that very few Americans went through what governors did. “Very few people were going through what we went through and we went through it together…and speaking for myself, it was a tremendous personal benefit,” said the Democrat.

Cuomo’s speech marked the end of his one-year presidency for the National Governor’s Association.
