The search has intensified for the suspect who gunned down a Houston woman who was visiting Maryland to drop off her son at the Naval Academy. The FBI and the Annapolis Police are offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the gunman.

Police said Michelle Cummings, 57, was fatally shot in a drive-by shooting at her hotel in Annapolis early on Tuesday morning. She was sitting on the balcony with her husband after dropping off their son.

The suspect reportedly fired several shots from an SUV across from the hotel, striking Cummings who was reportedly not the intended target.

Chief Edward Jackson of the Annapolis Police Department released a statement saying, “we’re gonna do everything that we can, that’s humanly possible to bring the killer into a court of law to account for this most horrific act, as expeditiously as possible.”

Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) expressed his condolences to the family, later posting a link to a GoFundMe page in support of the family which has now amassed more than $110,000.
