Washington D.C. police and the National Guard warned the public that anyone wielding a firearm at Wednesday’s “Save America” rally will be arrested.

In an update Monday, acting D.C. Police Chief Robert Contee made it clear that those intent on bringing a firearm into the city will “not be tolerated.”

Mayor Muriel Bowser announced emergency no-parking restrictions around the pro-Trump demonstration, asking residents to check for detours before traveling “over those several days.”

Chief Contee asked residents to “please stay home.”

“In the demonstration area, there are signs that are posted. Anyone in violation of the posted signs, anyone in violation of District of Columbia law will be arrested,” Chief Contee stated. “So I want to be very clear about that because we have received some information that there are some individuals intent on bringing firearms into our city and that just will not be tolerated.”

The Democrat mayor said she expects some disregard of their guidelines by “out-of-towner’s looking for a confrontation.”
