Sen. Mike Braun (R-Ind.) recently emphasized the importance of investigating voter fraud in the 2020 election amid President Trump’s ongoing legal battles highlighting the issue.
In an interview Sunday, the Republican lawmaker stressed dismissing alleged irregularities without looking into them would leave more than half of the country uncertain about the election’s outcome.
Braun said 100,000 absentee ballots, which were not requested by voters, were cast in Wisconsin alone. He asserted not adequately probing voter fraud would undermine democracy.
“If you don’t at least give a perfunctory kind of investigation into it, whether it’s December 14th and what happens beyond, you’re going to have a good part of the country — it’s over 50 percent — that view that something is amiss,” he stated. “And that’s going to carry forward in terms of undermining a democracy.”
President @realDonaldTrump is right to hold states and local officials accountable to their own laws and make sure all legal ballots are counted. Fraudulent votes disenfranchise legal voters. We should all want a result that is fair and can be trusted by the American people.
