The Department of Homeland Security has prepared to launch the largest operation geared toward election security in the nation’s history.

The DHS announced that on Election Day, the Cyber Security Division will establish a virtual war room that will stay up and running 24/7 to protect against foreign interference, especially threats from Iran and China.

Election officials across the country will be able to call in and report any suspicious activity and the DHS will send directives on how states can best defend themselves against attacks.

Officials have said the virtual war room may stay in operation all the way up until the election results are verified in December.
