Court documents from a civil defamation lawsuit against British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell revealed more information regarding the recent accusations against her and the relationship she had with late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The suit, which was filed in 2015 by alleged victim Virginia Giuffre, accused Maxwell of exploiting and lying about Giuffre while she was being sexually abused by Epstein. Maxwell’s 11th-hour request to block the documents from being released to the public was denied by federal Judge Loretta Preska.

According to the documents, Maxwell had remained in close contact with Epstein through email. He allegedly wrote a statement for her in order to publicly deny accusations and discredit Giuffre.

This contradicted statements made by Maxwell’s attorneys, who said she had not been in touch with Epstein for over 10 years in attempt to make bail.

In her deposition, Giuffre also claimed former President Bill Clinton had close connections with Maxwell and spent time with Epstein on his private island.

Others who were allegedly a part of Epstein’s group included U.K. royal Prince Andrew, former Vice President Al Gore, former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson and Epstein’s former defense attorney Alan Dershowitz.

Prince Andrew has publicly denied accusations against him, but officials pointed out he has refused to cooperate with their investigation.

“Contrary to Prince Andrew’s very public offer to cooperate with our investigation into Epstein’s co-conspirators, an offer that was conveyed via press release, Prince Andrew has now completely shut the door on voluntary cooperation,” stated then-U.S. attorney Geoffrey Berman. “Our office is considering its options.”

Alan Dershowitz has also vehemently denied accusations of his association with Epstein. He has further suggested the unsealed documents prove his innocence.

Maxwell has pleaded to not guilty to multiple charges of sex trafficking involving minors and is set to appear in court next July.
