New Jersey schools are set to resume in-person instruction in the fall with several regulations in place. Governor Phil Murphy has emphasized that the health of students, families and educators will be top priority.
The guidelines, which were released on Friday, included social distancing, face coverings, new screening policies, staggered break times and much more.
However, these regulations are not ‘one size fits all.’ Each school district will have to weigh its options and come up with its own proposal to meet these guidelines.
“As we cannot predict the future, districts must be prepared for the possibility that public health could require another switch to all remote learning at any time,” stated Murphy. “Protecting everyone continues to be our top priority.”
According to officials, districts should strive to share scheduling plans with the public at least four weeks before the beginning of the school year.
