President Trump recently weighed-in on the escalating border conflict between India and China. In a tweet Wednesday, the president said his administration has informed both nations the U.S. is ready, willing and able to mediate or arbitrate their dispute.
We have informed both India and China that the United States is ready, willing and able to mediate or arbitrate their now raging border dispute. Thank you!

This came after recent talks between both sides failed to lead to a resolution to the conflict in the Ladakh region.
India and China have also recently deployed additional troops to the border. However, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesman said both nations are capable of solving the issue.
“The current situation on China-India border is generally stable and controllable; China and India have perfect border-related mechanisms and communication channels,” said Hua Chunying, spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry. “Both parties have the ability to properly resolve relevant issues through dialogue and consultation.”
An Indian official said the country will make all efforts to maintain peace and tranquility along the border.
