National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien recently confirmed the G7 summit could happen in person in Washington. On Sunday, he said the summit could take place at the end of June, if all the planning comes together to bring foreign leaders to the U.S.
He also announced that everyone will be tested for the coronavirus to ensure the safety of those who are invited.
The adviser emphasized the opportunity presented by the meetup as the world continues to work through the health crisis.
“It’s the chance for the leaders of the democracies of the free enterprise countries to get together and decide how to get their economies reopened,” stated O’Brien. “We can work together to make sure we all come out of this COVID crisis, bring back health, peace and prosperity.”

The president discussed the potential Group of Seven summit on Thursday. He said he was hopeful it could happen in D.C., or possibly Camp David.
