White House economic adviser Peter Navarro recently blasted China, who he is blaming for the economic situation in the U.S. On Sunday, he stated misbehavior on their end is stacking up regarding the virus outbreak.
According to the adviser, China hid behind the World Health Organization (WHO) for months, while Chinese nationals traveled around the world seeding the virus in other countries.
“Let’s go over the facts here, correct me if I’m wrong. The virus was spawned in Wuhan province, patient zero was in November. The Chinese, behind the shield of WHO, for two months hid the virus from the world. They could have kept it in Wuhan, instead it became a pandemic.” – Peter Navarro, White House economic adviser
He added he finds it even more troubling that the FBI is looking into possible hacking from Chinese officials toward American virus research facilities. He reiterated China created the pandemic and it appears they now want to create a vaccine to hold the world hostage.
Navarro has also suggested the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) let the country down early on in the pandemic. According to the adviser, not only did the agency keep testing “within the bureaucracy,” but it supplied a bad test that set the country back.
He noted whether the administration still has confidence in the CDC is a question to ask the president.
Going forward with the CDC’s guidelines, Navarro added it’s important to realize reopening the U.S. is not a question of saving lives versus jobs. He stressed there have been many lives indirectly put in danger due to lockdown orders.
“Unemployment creates more suicides, depression and drug abuse. We also know this in this crisis: as we lock down our hospitals for everything but COVID, women haven’t been getting mammograms or cervical examinations for cancer. We haven’t been able to do other procedures for the heart or kidneys, and that’s going to kill people as well.” – Peter Navarro, White House economic adviser
Navarro went on to say lockdown measures are not only taking a huge toll on the American economy, but also on American lives. He has said that more people will likely be killed from local government orders than the virus.
