A Fresno County city has voted to reopen despite statewide coronavirus lockdown orders. Parlier, California reportedly allowed barber shops and beauty salons to reopen earlier this week.

These businesses were forced to shutdown late in March as part of Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (D) stay-at-home measures. However, many businesses throughout the state have been devastated by those orders.

Officials agreed that although the measures are necessarily in larger cities, it doesn’t make sense to close down a city with as few cases as Parlier.

These businesses are allowed to open with restrictions such as servicing clients by appointment only and wearing masks during service.

The Parlier City Council is still discussing the possibility of allowing more businesses open in time for Mother’s Day weekend.
