The two will face off against each other in the candidates’ first and only debate on Wednesday night.

The poll, conducted from September 30th through October 2nd, found that 52% of respondents indicated they are supporting Gallego, as 42% stated they would vote for the Republican. Meanwhile, 5% said they were not sure which candidate they would cast a ballot for. One percent said they support another candidate.

Additionally, Gallego saw a higher approval rating than Lake, where 58% of respondents said they had an unfavorable view of the Republican and 38% had a favorable view. Gallego had an equal favorable and unfavorable rating of 46% each.

Furthermore, Gallego polled higher than Lake among young voters (56% to 32%) and female voters (54% to 37%).

The conducted survey polled a total of 783 likely voters online, and had a margin of error of plus and minus 3.5 percentage points.

Lake, a former news anchor in Arizona, has been endorsed by 45th President Donald Trump.

Despite the polling not falling in her favor, Lake is not worried.

I do believe that independents are with me, I think we’re doing pretty well, our polling is showing that we’re building on the independent vote,” Lake said. “And I think a lot of Democrats, while he [Gallego] hates Trump voters and he hates Republicans. I don’t hate Democrats. I actually believe that disaffected Democrats are going to help us turn the corner.”

She is confident that the polling is much closer than what is being let on.

“We have to go into it acting like we’re ten down, but we’re not ten down,” Lake stated. “This is a very tight race. I’m proud of that, considering, as I said, he spent 75 million. He’s been outspending us massively and the fact that this is such a tight race is incredible. Chuck Schumer is in a panic about Arizona. He’s dumping 5 million bucks a week into Arizona.”
