Police have released footage from a body camera video showing Gabby Petito and her boyfriend following a heated argument. A new report revealed events in the timeline leading up to the disappearance of Petito, highlighting mental health issues and possible tension with boyfriend Brian Laundrie.

The body cam footage released on Thursday showed police responding to a domestic violence call involving Petito and Laundrie on Aug. 12. The footage also showed the police officer separating the two and according to the four page report, witnesses claimed they saw the couple arguing over a phone when Petito climbed through the window of their van after Laundrie had locked her out.

Officers said they had separated the pair to prevent further disturbances and witnesses said they were obligated to report what they saw.

Petito told police they had been fighting all morning and that Laundrie wouldn’t let her into the car. Footage then showed police questioning Laundrie as they tried to deescalate the situation.

Laundrie has since been named a person of interest in the missing person case, but the focus remains on finding Petito. As more developments unfold and as police continue to piece together the truth, local news station KSTU discovered the last time Petito was seen was on Aug. 24 at a Fairfield Inn and Suites near Salt Lake City International Airport.

The couple was pulled over while they were having an emotional fight. Petito was reported missing by her family a month later and is now the subject of a nationwide search. According to the staff, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) took a visit and determined Petito stayed there for more than a day. Laundrie returned home to Florida on Sept. 1, 10 days before Petito’s family reported her missing.

“This girl right here, this is what matters. That is it. Anything else comes second to this,” said Police Chief Todd Garrison.

In the meantime, authorities have continued their search in Wyoming, which was reportedly the last place Petito was in when she spoke to her mother.
