Oregon unveiled new guidelines for dozens of counties to move into phase two of reopening their economies.
During a press conference Wednesday, Gov. Kate Brown said counties who have succeeded in controlling the spread of the coronavirus can be approved for the next phase.
In phase two, restaurant and bar hours would be extended. Additionally, venues like movie theaters and public pools can reopen while still being required to abide by social distancing guidelines.

Brown said counties will be able to apply as soon as Friday.
“Counties that are approved to move into phase two will be able to relax some of the restrictions that had been in place in phase one and some sectors will be able to reopen,” she announced.
The governor noted that the state has conducted thousands of tests within the last week and is seeing a downward trend of positive test results.
