Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (MTG) will present a resolution to censure Rep. Rashida Tlaib for her “anti-Semitic activity” and her support of an Islamic terrorist group.

MTG’s proposed resolution, which will be presented on Tuesday, was obtained by the Washington Examiner and cites Tlaib (D-MI) “for antisemitic activity, sympathizing with terrorist organizations, and leading an insurrection at the United States Capitol Complex” in reference to the large-scale protest that took place inside the U.S. Capitol last week that resulted in the arrest of hundreds of insurrectionists who stormed the building.

“The [Democratic] Party has done nothing to hold her accountable. They’ve done nothing to rein her in, and no one else here has done it. And so I thought it was right to list examples of — this isn’t just new. This isn’t a one-off thing. This is exactly who she is,” MTG told reporters.

Tlaib had addressed a gathering at a large protest rally that the movement’s organizers planned and carried out.

Greene told the press, “I think we will have every single Republican vote with us for this central resolution.”

Social media users also chimed in on the anti-Zionism protest at the U.S. Capitol on X (Twitter).

“These are the kind of people who refer to Jew-hating Islamic terrorists as ‘freedom fighters’ who are angered by Israel fighting back after Hamas started the war first, you can’t reason with them,” one X (Twitter) user wrote.

In the censure resolution, MTG references several examples. One such example is a 2019 comment made by Tlaib, claiming that the Holocaust gave her a “calming feeling.”

“There’s always kind of a calming feeling, I tell folks, when I think of the Holocaust, and the tragedy of the Holocaust, and the fact that it was my ancestors — Palestinians — who lost their land, and some lost their lives, their livelihood, their human dignity, their existence in many ways, have been wiped out, and some people’s passports,” she said on a podcast episode. “And just all of it was in the name of trying to create a safe haven for Jews, post-the Holocaust, post-the tragedy and the horrific persecution of Jews across the world at that time. And I love the fact that it was my ancestors that provided that, right, in many ways. But they did it in a way that took their human dignity away, and it was forced on them.”

The comments made by Tlaib following Hamas’s initial strike on Israel earlier this month was further highlighted by the conservative representative.

“The path to the future must include lifting the blockade, ending the occupation, and dismantling the apartheid system that creates the suffocating, dehumanizing conditions that can lead to resistance,” MTG said.

In addition, Greene demanded an inquiry of last week’s demonstration that took place within the Capitol.

“It should [have] a House Ethics investigation. [The House Administration Committee] should be investigating it. I think the Department of Justice, FBI should be investigating, even possibly the CIA.”
