Top GOP members of the Senate and House Budget Committees set the record straight about the Democrats’ reckless tax and spend bill. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) even went as far as to call Joe Biden’s spending plan a “monster pig.”

At a press conference on Thursday, Graham reacted to the Biden administration’s claim that the Congressional Budget Office’s bill score is somehow fake. Graham noted Biden’s remarks about the nonpartisan group were very different when he was vice president.

Graham pointed out how back in 2010, Biden said “the estimates from the CBO, which is really a, as you know, the gold standard…no Republican or Democrat questions it.” Graham then added, “I want the American people to know that this score from the CBO about the actual cost of the bill is not fake, it’s real. The effect on the deficit is not fake, it’s real.”

According to the CBO, Biden’s bill would be almost $3 trillion more than the nearly $1.7 trillion approved in the House bill. Graham said Democrats would do anything they could to hide this from the American people because it exposes their budget gimmicks.

Graham also said the Build Back Better bill “never gets better.” Meanwhile, Congressman Jason Smith (R-Mo.), who is the ranking member of the House Budget Committee, agreed.

“Over on the House side we refer to it as a couple other different B’s. This bill, as I said, bankrupts the economy. It’s the largest spending bill in the history of the United States. It’s the largest tax increase in the history of the United States. And it will add $3 trillion to the deficit…clearly bankrupting the economy,” stated Smith.

The Biden administration has claimed if the bill passes, it would rebuild a “better America.” However, Smith pointed out that most American’s idea of a better America doesn’t involve tax hikes and even more government intrusion.

Smith stressed that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) must revise this bill and remove all budget gimmicks. He added she has more than enough time to do this considering she hasn’t even sent it to the Senate.
