A Biden district judge nominee, Dale Ho, is facing backlash for his comments regarding elections and congressional power. In a recently resurfaced video from the 2018 National Civic Leadership Summit, Ho claimed the Senate and Electoral College are “anti-democratic.”

Ho claimed these institutions lead to the “mal-distribution of political power.”
“We had obviously lots of practices that are anti-democratic that entrench, in some ways, minority rule in this country.” he stated. “And I’m talking about things like, you know, the Senate, Electoral College and mal-distribution of political power that results the from those institutions.”
Ho has faced significant push-back from Republicans during the confirmation process due to inflammatory social media posts he made during the Trump administration. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) pointed out that Ho, in fact, tweeted attacks against multiple GOP lawmakers.

Additionally, Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) has even gone so far as to say Ho shows an “open contempt for the Constitution” and should not be confirmed.
