House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) has come to the defense of Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) as more Democrats have called for the Colorado Republican to be stripped from her committee assignments. McCarthy said Boebert doesn’t need to make further apologies for her comments against Democrat lawmakers.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, McCarthy said Boebert already attempted to make a public and personal apology for her anti-Muslim comments against Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.). McCarthy highlighted the hypocrisy in how Democrats fail to take action against members in their own party.

“Did anyone on your side of the aisle talk about when Omar said the only reason I support Israel is about the Benjamins? I never got a public apology or a phone call,” said the Republican.

During the press conference, McCarthy also predicted more Democrats will announce their retirement before the years end, saying it’s been a disastrous year in Congress. The Republican criticized Democrats’ incapability of getting bills to pass under a one party rule in the Senate before having to get the GOP involved, such as Thursday night’s vote on government funding.

“The management of this House is unbelievable. Why do they put the financial jeopardy of America on the line,” he asked.

McCarthy brought the Biden administration into light, taking aim at Joe Biden’s failure to keep promises amid rising inflation as the situation continues to affect hard-working Americans every day.

“He [Joe Biden] promised he would shut down the virus and he hasn’t. President Biden’s only strategy so far has been to threaten Americans with more arbitrary COVID restrictions and mandates,” said McCarthy. “He depleted 50 million barrels of oil from our emergency ply and has done nothing to reverse anti-American energy agenda.”

Meanwhile, McCarthy suggested Republicans will take majority in the House next year, saying the GOP will listen, hear all Americans and improve their quality of life.
