Congressman Loui Gohmert (R-Texas) officially kicked off his bid for Texas attorney general. He made the announcement in a video on Monday.

Earlier this month, Gohmert said he wanted to reach $1 million in campaign contributions by the deadline of November 19 in order to unseat GOP incumbent Ken Paxton.

The congressman noted, he will be running on issues of unconstitutional mandates, parental consent, the southern border and election integrity being at the forefront of his campaign. According to him, these are all issues Paxton shrugged off towards the end of this term.

Texas will be one of many closely watched states, known for resisting COVID mandates and passing legislation to stop doctors from carrying out abortions.
