The Lincoln Project recently sent far left operatives with tiki torches to a Glenn Youngkin gubernatorial campaign event in Virginia. The move Friday was originally passed off as legitimate Youngkin supporters dressed how far-right activists dressed in Charlottesville four years ago.

However, investigators found that the individuals who showed up bore a striking resemblance to some Democrat Party activists. The Lincoln Project later tweeted that they set up the stunt while claiming Youngkin supports the values of the Charlottesville rioters.

According to the most recent polling, Democrat Terry McAuliffe trailed Youngkin by eight-points before Tuesday’s race.
