During Friday’s episode of “The View,” Meghan McCain gave President Trump credit for the development of COVID vaccines, noting it is a bipartisan issue. She also took aim at Press Secretary Jen Psaki who previously said other presidents don’t need a formal invitation to promote vaccinations.

McCain suggested new variants are bound to surface and said she’s worried the country won’t be able to pull out of constant restrictions until there’s new leadership in the White House.

“At this point, if it’s this serious that we’re going to lock down the country and masking everyone including, by the way, 2-year-olds, you should invite President Trump or someone in Trump land to help get the messaging out because until then we’re all being held hostage until this maybe never passes,” said McCain.

McCain said she wishes there was more energy coming from Democrats in Washington, D.C. on the rise in violence, saying the chances of getting shot are higher than contracting the virus.
