Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) has proposed several ways to help Cubans who have been struggling under the socialist regime. This weekend, the Florida governor criticized the Biden administration for refusing to help Cuban refugees, while admitting hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants from Mexico.

DeSantis said such an approach to immigration was purely political and must change. The governor also called on the Cuban military to side with the people and abandon the socialist regime.

DeSantis added Cuba could only be a free and prosperous country without socialism.

The best role for military is the Cuban military to realize that time’s up. That you can’t keep doing the bidding of a repressive dictatorship that is not governing with the consent of the governed,” he expressed. “Every day where the truth is out, not only throughout Cuba but in the world, is the day where freedom is going to have the upper hand, so let’s act now.”

DeSantis went on to say the Federal Communications Commission should help restore internet access in Cuba to help the truth about socialism come out for all of the world to see.
