Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf (D) has killed a bill that would have banned vaccine passports within the state. The Democrat claimed he made the decision to veto the bill because it would have limited medical providers access to information on vaccine rates.
However, supporters of the bill argued it would have protected the privacy of personal information. The General Assembly of Pennsylvania initially approved the bill in efforts to preserve medical freedoms for state residents.
SB 618 would have prohibited vaccine passports and reined in the Sec of Health powers. Unfortunately, the Gov vetoed this bill. I will continue to work to ensure PA residents are not impacted by government overstepping its bounds. pic.twitter.com/GFSmUYSecj

The measure, titled Senate Bill 618, would have prevented the requirement of vaccine passports to enter certain places, including state sponsored schools, as well as limited the powers of the state’s health secretary. It would have also restricted college-level schools from receiving state funding for mandating students to show proof of having received the vaccine before being allowed on college grounds.
Wolf went on to say although he had no plans to mandate vaccine passports on a statewide level, all businesses and agencies should be allowed to make their own rules regarding vaccine requirements.
