Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) has placed pressure on the National Institute of Health to explain allegations on why taxpayer money was used for gain of function research in Wuhan, China.
“You gave them money and you said, don’t do gain of function research,” Kennedy expressed. “You have no way of knowing whether they did or not. Except you trust them, is that right?”
How do you know the Wuhan lab didn’t lie and use U.S. grant money to conduct gain-of-function virus research on the sly?

During a recent Senate hearing on Wednesday, Kennedy got those testifying to admit that $600,000 in U.S. funding was given to the Wuhan lab without any accountability in place. Kennedy also pressured NIH Director Dr. Francis Collins to answer why the Biden administration initially shutdown a probe into the origins of COVID-19.
“Did they consult with you Doctor Collins?” Kennedy questioned. “You don’t wanna answer, do you?”
Kennedy also requested for the CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky to produce all documents on U.S. funding of COVID-19 research in China for further investigation by the Senate.
Dr. Ron Paul also highlighted the questionable funding of gain of function research in China by the NIH. While recently speaking on the Liberty Report, the former congressman stressed that it is “mad scientist” research to weaponize animal viruses against humans. He demanded that the U.S. must not participate in such dangerous experiments.
Paul went on to stress how medical bureaucrats should be held accountable for economic losses and for denying patients potential treatments such as hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin.
“The politicization of medicine is anti-science, anti-human, and anti-American,” he stated. “Will those who needlessly died due to this politicization finally get their justice?”
Paul went on to suggest lawmakers should ensure such government overreach does not happen again.
