Andy Ngo: U.S. unsafe due to far-left terror, erosion of police

A prominent Asian-American reporter commented on his decision to flee the U.S. due to threats by Antifa. Journalist and author Andy Ngo said he fled the U.S. due to an escalation of safety concerns.

In an interview Monday, Ngo of Portland, Oregon said it’s not safe for him to remain in the U.S. due to his past reporting on Antifa. Ngo stressed he left the U.S. due to the weakening of law enforcement and a rise in popularity of far-left violence.

He also talked about the multiple attacks he suffered at the hands of strangers while he covered Antifa events. People even showed up at his family’s home.

Ngo went on to call out the mainstream media for their seemingly preferential treatment of cases of violence against Asian-Americans.

“My question for them has been: Why were you silent when I was beaten in the middle of downtown by Antifa in 2019?” Ngo questioned. “Does violence perpetrated against Asian Americans only matter if it’s carried out by a convenient demographic of perpetrators? And if that’s so, be transparent about that. It’s frustrating. You can be the real victim of actual violence, but if the perpetrator happens to be far-left, or left-wing, or some other minority, it doesn’t matter.”

Ngo said he’s now in London and is not planning to return to the U.S. anytime soon.
