The Biden administration corrected statements made by Joe Biden regarding the Democrat’s recent comment on Americans wearing face masks.

While speaking to reporters on Thursday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki clarified Biden’s statement, which called on Americans to wear facial coverings until everyone has received a coronavirus vaccine. When pressed by reporters, Psaki said Biden was speaking generally and has not decided to impose a federal standard for mask wearing yet.

“I think he is speaking generally about the need to still observe measures like social distancing and wearing of masks,” Psaki claimed. “So that even when you’re vaccinated, you’re keeping your neighbors, your friends [and] your family members safe.”

On Monday, Biden continued to urge every American to keep wearing a face mask until everyone has received a vaccine.
