Meghan McCain has called for Dr. Anthony Fauci to be removed from the coronavirus task force. During Monday’s episode of “The View,” the co-host questioned Fauci’s lack of direction during the COVID-19 vaccine rollout.
McCain said she felt disturbed by the comments Fauci made in a prior CNN interview. In the interview, Fauci stated he could not make any recommendations on when families or large groups could reunite, even after they’ve been vaccinated.
“But now we’re in the Biden administration and I for one would like something to look forward to and to hope for,” McCain said. “Because if getting the vaccine means that just nothing changes and we have to wait another few years until everyone gets it, there’s already a lot of people not getting it. We’re already having a messaging problem getting people to take this vaccine, so I’m over Dr. Fauci.”
Many of you can keep worshiping at the alter of Fauchi. I’m not a phony – i will not go on tv and lie saying one thing privately and another on air. This is my opinion. We need someone else in charge of coronavirus messaging and leadership.

The remarks then prompted McCain to call for Fauci to be fired from the Biden administration.
“I think we need to have more people giving more opinions,” McCain added. “Honestly quite frankly, I think the Biden administration should remove him and put someone else in place that maybe does understand science, or can talk to other countries about how we can be more like these places that are doing this successfully.”
McCain also added that recently Fauci has had “inconsistent messaging” on a path forward.
