Attorney General William Barr is under fire for reportedly keeping information about Biden family corruption out of the public’s eye for the past two years.

According to Thursday’s report from the Wall Street Journal, Barr knew about two federal investigations into Hunter Biden’s business and financial dealings, since at least the spring. However, he took steps to avoid informing GOP lawmakers in order to keep it under wraps.

The latest revelation came after Hunter confirmed that the U.S. attorney’s office in Delaware opened an investigation into his tax affairs to see if he and his business associates violated money-laundering laws.

According to the Wall Street Journal, there is an additional international financial investigation in New York that also implicates Hunter.

Lawmakers and Americans are now questioning why Barr kept this information from the public prior to the presidential election.

Guidelines from the Department of Justice advised against disclosing or opening politically-charged investigations within 60 days of a presidential election. However, even with that time frame in place, Barr had plenty of time to inform Congress and the American people.

Additionally, a post-election poll from the “Media Research Center” found 45 percent of voters were unaware of the financial dealings between Biden and his son. Nearly 10 percent even said they wouldn’t have voted for Biden if they knew about the cases.

One America News spoke with Rep. Jody Hice (R-Ga.), who serves on the House Oversight Committee. He expressed concerns about the timing of the revelation of Hunter’s investigation to the public.

“This goes far, far beyond just tax issues,” Hice said. “It’s entanglement with foreign governments for the purpose of personal benefit and using his father, Joe Biden, as the springboard for personal advancement. How deep is the whip?”

He stressed that these questions should have been answered before the election.

On Thursday, President Trump tweeted about the DOJ’s and FBI’s failure to disclose the investigation into Hunter Biden, questioning the timing of the decision.

Meanwhile, several GOP lawmakers, such as Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) and Rep. Ken Buck (R-Colo.) said the Department of Justice should appoint a special counsel to investigate Hunter Biden and the possibility he’s made himself vulnerable to blackmail by adversaries such as China.
