The owner of the Delaware laptop repair shop where Hunter Biden’s hard drive was found is defending himself against baseless allegations that he is a Russian hacker.
In a video posted to his own YouTube channel on Friday, John Paul Mac Isaac explained his role in the Hunter scandal.
He said he was hired, but never paid, to transfer files from a Macbook Pro onto an external hard drive. The hard drive was later discovered to have the emails and videos that landed Hunter in hot water.
According to reports, conspiracy theories have circulated online that claim Mac Isaac’s shop was a cover and the hard drive was actually the product of Russian hackers.
“For two generations, the Mac Isaac family has fought during the entirety of the Cold War against Communism and the Soviets,” Mac Isaac stated. “That is why it’s completely absurd that anyone would ever consider me to be a Russian agent or influenced by Russia. I am proud of my family, I am proud of my country, and I am proud to be an American.”
He went on to say he is not a hacker and added this accusation would be a death sentence in his line of work. Mac Isaac noted the work he did is clearly outlined in the paperwork signed when he was hired.
