Filings from the Federal Election Commission show Rep. Ilhan Omar’s (D-Minn.) campaign paid her husband’s consulting firm prior to cutting ties.
According to the recent FEC filings, the team used campaign funds to pay another $138,000 dollars from October 26 until after Omar was re-elected.

In mid-November, the Minnesota representative vowed to cut ties with her husband’s business due to increased scrutiny over how she was spending money raised for her campaign.
Since early 2020, questions have circled the partnership though Omar has continuously denied any wrongdoing.
“I don’t pay my husband,” Omar claimed. “I pay the firm to do work.”
By the time Omar married her husband in March, her campaign had already paid his firm around $500,000.
In total, he has earned over $2.8 million through her re-election bid.
