Restaurants across the Golden State are rising up in defiance against Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti’s order shutting down outside dining.
The order went into effect last week, just one day before the Thanksgiving holiday. However, some restaurant owners are pushing back and claiming another shutdown would decimate their business.
COVID-19 cases are surging and we must take urgent action to flatten the curve now.

Business owner Alex Jordan in Redondo Beach, California said he hasn’t seen enough evidence to require outside dining to close and his employees can’t go through another shutdown.
“They shut us down for outdoor dining three weeks before Christmas, a month before Christmas, without any kind of aid to my employees or even to our small business,” he stated. “I thought it was wrong and I’ve just decided that there’s not really evidence to me to prove that outdoor dining is dangerous, at least not any more so that all the non-essential retail that they’ve left open.”
Outdoor dining in Los Angeles is set to continue until the December 16.
