Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron is asking the Supreme Court to rule on his lawsuit to allow religious schools to reopen. On Monday, he filed an emergency action for the court to prevent the enforcement of the Democrat governor’s executive order in which closes religious institutions.
Cameron argues religious institutions should not be treated differently than secular activities. He said in a statement that his office is willing to exhaust every available option and filing the lawsuit with the Supreme Court as the next step.
“The First Amendment exercise of religion is in play in this particular as it relates to religiously affiliated schools,” Cameron stated. “And it’s my responsibility as the attorney general to stand up for those rights that parents and kids all across the commonwealth try to exercise daily.”
We filed an emergency application with the U.S. Supreme Court this evening to protect the First Amendment rights of Kentuckians and stop enforcement of the Governor’s order closing religious schools.

The case is currently awaiting action by the high court.
