Republican Senate candidate John James (R-Mich.) called on Michigan election officials to delay the certification of the election results.

On Friday, James wrote to the Michigan Board of State Canvassers to ask them to hold off on announcing the results until they can be verified. He said he is interested in the truth and integrity of our elections, but added sometimes the truth takes time to surface.

Meanwhile, the Trump campaign has been pushing for a look into the election practices amid their concerns about mass mail-in voting.

“Right now there’s ongoing litigation,” said White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany. “There are very real claims out there that the campaign is pursuing. 234 pages of affidavits publicly available in one county alone – that’s Wayne County.”

James’s letter requests for just two weeks to fully audit the election results.
