A group of black pastors are criticizing Democrat vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris after she expressed support for Black Lives Matter.

Over the weekend, the co-founder of the Conservative Clergy of Color, Aubrey Shines, said her praise for movement is disheartening. He added, livelihoods have been destroyed and people are terrified yet Harris continues to stand behind the group “because it’s the cool thing to do.”

His remarks came after Harris praised Black Lives Matter during an interview with the NAACP on Friday. The California Democrat called their protests “essential.”

“And the brilliance and the impact of Black Lives Matter…history is going to show was an inflection point in the ongoing fight for justice to your point,” she stated. “And to reform the criminal justice system and America’s criminal justice system.”

The Conservative Clergy of Color said they hope Harris will reverse course and see Black Lives Matter’s actions are unworthy of praise.
