American Workforce Policy Advisory Board Co-chair Ivanka Trump recently touted President Trump’s new executive order on federal hiring tactics. Before the president signed the order Friday, she stated the mandate will help the government “better recognize the talents and competencies of all Americans it hires.”

The order will direct the government, the largest employer in the country, to prioritize skills over college degrees when considering employee applicants.
According to Ivanka, the order showed President Trump’s commitment to American workers and his mission to bring back the booming economy.
“With more people teleworking and working from home than ever before, we have a lot to accomplish in the months ahead,” she said. “I’m really excited to extend this working group and reform our federal hiring practices as we head towards building an inclusive American economy, as we transition to greatness.”
Today, President @realDonaldTrump will sign an executive order to transform the federal hiring process—and replace one-size-fits-all, degree-based hiring with skills-based hiring.

Ivanka also believes the move will help encourage employers to “think critically about how initiatives like these can help diversify and strengthen their workforce.”
