According to Attorney General William Barr, the peaceful protests for George Floyd have been “hijacked” by “far-left forces.”
On Saturday, Barr stressed “it is a federal crime to cross state lines or use interstate facilities to incite or participate in violent rioting.” He explained that groups of outside radicals have been “exploiting” the protests “to pursue their own separate violent agenda.”
“In many places, it appears the violence is planned, organized and driven by anarchic, far-left extremist groups using Antifa like tactics, many of whom travel from outside the state to promote the violence,” stated the attorney general.
AG William Barr:
“Unfortunately with the rioting that is occurring…the voices of peaceful protests are being hijacked by violent radical elements. Groups of outside radicals and agitators are exploiting the situation to pursue their own violent agenda.”pic.twitter.com/ImysvkSjzE
