Anti-lockdown protests in London led to a police response after demonstrators refused to disperse. Hundreds gathered Saturday in the city’s Hyde Park to voice their opposition to ongoing lockdown efforts in the U.K.

Around 20 people were arrested for deliberately breaking social distancing guidelines, including the brother of Labor Party leader Jeremy Corbyn.

The protest in London was one of several around the country, which has been under lockdown since March 23rd.

“Look, that’s your human rights to feel that way, but please don’t tell me because you feel that way, I can’t come to Hyde Park on a sunny Saturday afternoon and listen to what people have got to say,” stated one protester.

The came after Prime Minister Boris Johnson relaxed some restrictions this week, including the amount of time people can stay outside within social distancing guidelines.

More than 34,000 deaths in the U.K. have been blamed on COVID-19.
