Actor Donald Sutherland Passes Away At 88 – One America News Network

The renowned actor Donald Sutherland, who starred in movies like “M*A*S*H,” “Klute,” “Ordinary People,” and more recently, “The Hunger Games,” passed away in Miami, Florida, on Thursday at the age of 88, according to a statement released by Los Angeles talent agency CAA on Thursday.

Sutherland received three honors: a Golden Globe for his role in the miniseries “Citizen X,” as well as an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award for the HBO television movie “Path to War.”

Sutherland, a native of Saint John, Canada, shot to stardom with his breakthrough roles in “The Dirty Dozen” and “M*A*S*H.” Other films that Sutherland starred in during his lengthy career were “Kelly’s Heroes,” “Don’t Look Now,” “JFK,” “1900,” “The Hunger Games” series, and “Ad Astra.”

Although Sutherland never received an Oscar nomination, he did win an “Honorary Oscar” in 2017.

Additionally, Sutherland is the father of CAA Media Finance executive Roeg Sutherland and well-known actor, Kiefer Sutherland.

He is survived by his spouse, Francine Racette, his five children, and his four grandchildren.

The family is currently planning a private celebration of life.
