On Wednesday, Klyuchevskaya Sopka, a volcano on Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula, erupted sending plumes of lava up to 8 miles in the air.
Schools in nearby towns in Ust-Kamchatsk and Klyuchy closed as a precaution but there were no injuries reported.
The Civil Defense warned civilians to avoid the volcano region and refrain from driving to and from the nearby town of Klyuchi.
According to media reports, the volcano previously erupted in June.
They also stated that it has been spewing ash clouds on an almost daily basis since October 15th.
