A manhunt is underway after a Georgia police officer was fatally shot.
According to the Alamo Police Department on Saturday, 43-year-old Damien Ferguson is wanted in connection to the death of 26-year-old Dylan Harrison. Officials said Harrison was working his first shift as a part-time officer when Ferguson struck him outside the police station.
Ferguson is currently being considered armed and dangerous. What led to the shooting has not yet been confirmed.
“The investigation is very active. The most important thing is to take the suspect into custody. So, anyone who has any information, no matter how small you think it may be, please report it to any one of those methods that we give you,” said Georgia Bureau of Investigation spokesperson Natalie Ammons.
The agency announced it is offering a reward of $17,500 for information leading to the suspect’s arrest.
Harrison is survived by his wife and 6-month-old baby. “We send our thoughts and prayers to the officer’s family, blood and blue,” the Georgia Department of Public Safety said.
