Maryland has experienced its lowest COVID-19 case numbers to date. According to Gov. Larry Hogan (R-MD), Maryland reported the 50th lowest case and positivity rate in the entire country.
Hogan added Maryland has since moved into the COVID-19 risk level orange tier, which is one level safer than the red tier. His comments come after Maryland recently enacted a plan to ensure booster shots were provided to eligible residents.
“We’ve already launched a vigorous outreach effort for those Marylanders who are currently eligible for a booster shot,” he explained. “Last week, the Maryland Department of Health issued a bulletin directing vaccine providers to immediately make booster shots available to all eligible Marylanders.”

Hogan went on to say Maryland was still waiting on approval by the federal government to enact vaccines for five to 11-year-old children. He said he anticipated this to come by the end of October.
