Olympic swimming superstar Katie Ledecky said she hasn’t ruled out the 2024 Paris Games after claiming her fourth medal in Tokyo. During a press conference on Saturday, the ace American swimmer said she’s aiming towards competing in the Paris 2024 Games, which would be her fourth Olympics.
The 24-year-old Los Angeles native dominated the 800-meter freestyle on Saturday, earning a gold in the event for the third time in a row. Ledecky also received gold in the 1,500-meter freestyle and earned silver in the 400-meter freestyle. Finally, Ledecky closed out the Games with a fourth medal in the 200-meter freestyle relay.

Ledecky began competing in the Olympics at just 15-years-old and has now earned seven gold medals throughout her career, leaving her one shy of the record for female swimmers. Ledecky also said she isn’t ruling out competing on her home soil in L.A. in 2028.
“I want to keep representing our country at this level and it would be an honor to go to a fourth Games, and it would be an honor to go to a fifth Games and compete on home soil,” she said. “I know how unique that is and how special that is to the people that get to do that.”
In the meantime, Ledecky said the Olympics have been a huge part of her life and she may be at the Games in 2028 whether it’s in the pool or in the stands.
